State Minister for Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Hon. Yosei IDE, visits QIQB

On Thursday, 22 December 2022, the State Minister for Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Hon. Yosei IDE, and other officials from MEXT visited QIQB.

At the beginning of the visit, Prof Masahiro KITAGAWA, QIQB Center Director, gave an overview of the current activities of QIQB, and there was a lively exchange of views, particularly on the future prospects of training the quantum workforce and quantum technology.

Next, during a visit to the superconducting quantum computer, QIQB Deputy Director A/Prof. Makoto NEGORO, explained the specific mechanisms, etc., and there was an exchange of opinions on the current status and challenges of the development of domestically produced quantum computers.
